To introduce Knorr Western Basic Sauces, Unilever Foodsolutions launched the campaign “Seeking the 6th Sensation”. Beginning in March, the challenge to discover the new “6th sensation” in Chinese cuisine attracted great interest. Hundreds of chefs from all across China sent in their views on what new dimensions of taste could be created in Chinese cuisine. The finalists were invited to Guangzhou where they demonstrated their culinary creations and explained the new taste sensations they had discovered. Of the two eventual winners, one chef had used Knorr Western White Sauce in traditional Chinese dishes to create a new savoury and creamy flavour and texture sensation. The other winning chef used a combination of western dressings and sauces to create a unique fusion of flavours new to Chinese cuisine. They showed us the possibilities open to us with the creative fusion of cuisines.
